FreeYond Debut in Malaysia: A Bold Entrance to the Southeast Asian Market

FreeYond, an innovative consumer tech company from Shenzhen, has officially debuted its brand and products to the Malaysian market on March 21, 2023, at The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur. The company made a strong and bold entrance by unveiling eight new products at once, including two smartphones, two smartwatches, one True Wireless Stereo (TWS) headset, and three upcoming smartphones. The launch marks FreeYond’s formal entry into the Southeast Asian market, starting with Malaysia.

YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications and Digital Malaysia, attended the launch and said, “Today marks a new turning point for Malaysia’s digital landscape with the launch of FreeYond’s affordable products that cater to the needs of all Malaysians. The B40 group can now access quality products without breaking the bank, and SMEs and home-based owners can benefit from the boost in their business with FreeYond’s support. As we move towards a more digital future, we must continue to prioritise the inclusivity and accessibility of our products and services for all Malaysians. FreeYond’s brand launch is a step in the right direction, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our economy and society as a whole.”

With a focus on innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, FreeYond aims to establish itself in the region as a leader in cost-effective performance and fashionable design products. The company’s expansion into Southeast Asia followed an angel round investment of nearly CNY 100 million (RM64,624,380) from a Malaysian consortium led by Datuk Eddie Chai, a well-known Malaysian investor. The company intends to leverage Datuk Eddie’s influence to expand its business in Southeast Asia, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore.
